Vote: Cougar vs No TP

Which are you more afraid of?

(this one's for you, rob)

Running across a mountain lion on your trail (or worse, on a big rock above your trail), or having a GI disaster 10 miles into a 20 mile loop with no toilet paper to be had?

Tie. Well, if I'm running alone then the puma is scarier. If someone is with me then bring on the cat.

hmmm...that is a tough one. i ran into a mountain lion several years ago late at night. he got caught on a barbed-wire fence on his way to eat me and wasn't too happy at missing out on an easy meal.

still, i can't think of much worse than a GI disaster in nature minus the tp (except maybe having to wrestle said mountain lion late at night with no help in sight)...

ok, i guess i choose life over discomfort.

mountain lion.

Once again, I'm not afraid of anything!

But as an ex-infantry guy, I've dropped off the kids in some disgusting places, so having to gather up some leaves in the forest really isn't that big a deal. Just make sure it's not poison ivy you're using.

Now a mountain lion attack while you're squatting in the woods...that would suck.

No TP. Ingorance is bliss...the thought of running across a moutain lion hasn't entered my mind. Err...I guess it has now. : P

Well, since I have experienced the GI disaster in the woods more than once with no TP I will have to vote for the Cougar, and the combo of getting caught by the Cougar while squatting that is even better.

Definitely cat, as well as any other creature that bites/scratches/kicks ass. No tp is normal, as well as GI disaster for me:)

TP in most cases. But if the only things around are cactus, pine trees, and poison ivy, then I'll go with the cougar.

Darn. That's a tough one!!! Probably a tie. The problem with no TP is that in cali a lot of places don't have real big leaves either... so that would REALLY suck. Just like running into a mountain lion would. Geesh. You'd think there were be a clear winner here...

I'm gonna go with the mountain lion being the bigger issue. I think the no TP thing is more of an inconvenience that doesn't necessarily end the run whereas the dying on trail would end the run. Brownie's combo would be the worst one.

uh, no TP. Even though I'm scared of mtn lions, I know that it probably wouldn't attack me, and if it did, I'd use my pepper spray on it.

But that answer is while I'm safely ensconsed in a coffee shop. Ask me after a trail run (maybe after OP50 next year...you are going to run it, right?) :)

I would rather encounter the mountain lion. Why? they don't usually attack humans, and its rare and pretty cool to see one.

I ran into a couple late at night on an isolated trail. I had been standing still for a little while when they approached. At the time it scared the crap out of me, but looking back (which, if literal, would have been bad without TP) it was kind of cool. I wish I had a flash on my camera. They were just checking me out and let me back away.

Sheesh, no CO update on your blog? How 'bout another poll: Would you rather get your ass kicked by jt A) on the incline; or B) at Palmer Park?

Don't you mean "If two people are an even match and tie going up the incline and running in Palmer Park, who is more baddass: the one who is visiting from sea level, or the one who's been living at altitude for the past 6 months?"
